HPS Cambs & Beds 20th Anniversary | ||||

In September 2009 we had our celebratory lunch at the Red Lion, East Haddon, followed by an afternoon visit to Coton Manor Gardens. We were very fortunate in the weather, which helped make the day perfect. The Red Lion looked after us very splendidly; their service and food were excellent. Coton Manor gardens were looking superb and full of autumn perennials showing an amazing range of colour. Most of us managed tea and cake and together with the odd plants from the nursery, came home feeling well satisfied. Thanks to Winifred for arranging the day. September also brought a visit to Danae’s garden which was equally full of colour and excitement. The Committee provided the eats and Danae and David supplied wine followed by tea and coffee. The sun shone on us on this occasion too. Danae after Twenty years, has decided not to open the garden any longer under the ‘Yellow Book Scheme’ and our visit turned into a small celebration of all her efforts to support that charity. Danae is a founder member of our local group and has worked tirelessly for us over the last twenty years. |
